We love to get to know our customers and be a part of your sewing journey. If you love sewing, embroidery and needlecraft or have always wanted to learn, this is the place for you!
With this introductory pattern-making class, you will learn the how to measure and map the lower body to create a skirt template or sloper that is custom fit to your figure! The final sloper can be used in turn to create patterns for an endless variety of styles of skirts.
DC Stitch, Capitol Hill’s sewing studio for kids since 2015, offers classes after-school, on weekends, and during the summer.
This 4.5 hour class ( morning session - break - afternoon session) is designed to give students a chance to improve and build on sewing skills learned from our Straight Stitch Skill 1 class and concepts in sewing construction.
If you are a beginner we start by teaching you how to properly use the machines. Then you sew our beginners projects which give you fundamental skills so we move on to projects of your choosing!
Each child will get a kit of their choice. They will learn how to blanket stitch the project together. Best part is after they sew it up, it will become one of their favorite travel toys. Kit comes with carry case which doubles as bed for their new friend.
