Here’s what we’ll cover in this 90-minute class open to adults 14 and up. Kids’ sewing classes can be booked under the After School & Saturday listing.

*This project requires four 8″ squares for the front and a single 16″ square for the back. We usually use quilting cotton but you’re welcome to bring anything you like!
Bookings for this class must be made 12 hours in advance, if no times show up under the calendar it’s too close to the class start time. You can call the studio to check for the availability of last-minute bookings.
Our Story
About The Studio: While our roots are in kids’ classes, over the past few years we have expanded our offerings to cater to adults as well. We now offer a full range of adult classes, from beginners to advanced, making our studio a hub for sewists of all ages and skill levels in the Boston area.
Our studio is open for weekly classes, birthday parties, and we also offer a full camp schedule for when the kids are out of school. Students ages 6 and up enjoy working through projects from basic to advanced, while our accelerated teaching methods ensure that beginning adults get on their feet as fast as possible. Our carefully selected assistant staff, all former students of the studio, bring years of experience sewing and working together as a team. It’s not unusual for all ages to share the studio simultaneously at certain times of the day, and we believe that creates a dynamic and inclusive learning environment for everyone.
At Newton Sewing Studio, we pride ourselves on providing a professional environment with all the tools, notions, and equipment that both kids enjoy and adults expect. Our studio features computerized pattern drafting, dye sublimation, sergers, coverlock machines, high-end, embroidery, industrial-strength sewing machines, and so much more. We also stock a wide range of threads, fabrics, and notions in-house for our projects, and our experienced team can assist with sourcing fabric and notions for outside project ideas in the Boston and Metro West area.
Our upstairs studio is organized, big, bright, and beautiful, with its own private bathroom, vending machine, and drinks available for purchase. Convenient parking is available in our private lot, right at the front door. We’re located in an industrial area that shares our location with other businesses like an auto mechanic, upholstery shop, church, audio remastering service, landscaper, and a school and charter bus company. Plentiful shopping options in the area make it convenient for parents to run errands after dropping off their kids.

This oh-so-stylish turban styled headband will have everyone asking "where'd you get that?"
All ages will learn about sewing while making special projects. Each child will work on a sewing project for their skill level. Sewers will learn machine threading and maintenance, pattern making and creative problem solving. Some projects include hand embroidery and other needlework.
This class helps you become comfortable doing basic alterations on your own. The topics include taking seams apart and adjusting seams on shirts, jackets, dresses, pants, skirts, and other garments.
Are you needing time or guidance to finish a project? We are here to help bring in your project and join us for hours of uninterrupted sewing. Michelle will be on hand to help with questions if needed.
