I grew up in a very creative household. My Mum was always spinning, dying wool or weaving. Skeins of beautiful naturally dyed wool hung from every hook possible in the kitchen to dry.
Fabrics and colour, a constant source of discussion for my Dad’s latest Interior Architecture project, or model making was going on in the workshop.
This workshop is designed to quickly walk you through the basics, build your confidence and get you started on the exciting journey of sewing and mending! Using a sewing box or sewing machine, easily creating new garments as well as mending.
Dressmaking classes are suitable for someone who is a complete beginner wanting to learn basic sewing skills to make their own clothes, or for someone with intermediate experience who wants to advance their skills.
This workshop is suitable for those who have used a sewing machine before, can confidently thread the machine and bobbin and have sewn several projects before. If you need a beginners class or a refresher then have a look at beginners classes available.
The sewing classes have been a great way for attendees to make friends with people with similar interests. Every attendee got the opportunity to socialise in a safe environment, even throughout the pandemic. Attendees could fine-tune their skills or learn from scratch with a professional tutor.
