Hello. My name is Irina Charnley, I come from Omsk in Siberia. I was a seamstress there for 30 years and moved to England some time ago. I worked from home but as my business grew I needed larger premises. I moved to my shop in Gosport and never looked back.
When I originally settled here I thought at first my trade was not needed. Unlike Russia so many items were off the peg, however I soon found out that there was indeed a need for my talent.
If you're new to needle and thread, why not pop along to one of our sewing classes? You can learn the basics and begin to learn the basics of garment repairs and costume design. We'll give you a full demonstration on how to use a sewing machines and teach you the tricks of the trade.
Come and learn a range of basic sewing techniques - seams and their uses, zips and their uses and inserting a zip, decorative stitches and a tote bag project.
The Dressmaking course we offer is suitable for both beginners and progressing sewing students. Delivered in a step by step process within 10 weeks, beginners will go from learning how to thread machine to wearing their finished garment.
