During this sewing class students will be introduce to the art of re-fashioning a piece of clothes by learning techniques to give old and forgotten clothing a new lease of life and make it into a "new and more interesting" piece of clothes that they will be able to wear, gift or sell.

We work with pre-loved clothes and discarded textiles. All materials are included for this class. Students are welcome to bring their own pre-loved clothes, either their own size or adult size.

Simple Thimbles’ afterschool program consists of 4 separate levels. The students start with Level 1 and move their way up. Each level runs for 6 weeks with a one 1hr 15min class per week.
In this class you will learn the basics of sewing in a way that most other beginner classes will not cover. You will complete a fitting pair of pants, with pockets and elastic waist.
Sewing Classes are offered by Austin Sewing Machines and Quilting. Austin Sewing was first established in 1953, over 65 years ago! The oldest in Central Texas and long time leader in the industry.
