Marla Kazell has been sewing professionally for 30 years and creates beautiful couture garments in her custom clothing studio in Tigard, Oregon. Her focus is on fit and fine sewing techniques and her garments feature wonderful details.
She has shared her sewing knowledge in articles for Threads and Sew News magazines and teaches sewing classes and hands-on workshops in Portland, Oregon and across the country.

If you prefer a lesson by yourself, we can book a private lesson, and private rates apply. Classes are for both crochet or knitting, depending on the student's needs. We schedule "Beginner" classes on a rolling basis rather than wait for a specific day in a month.
The intent of the KAL / CAL is to enable participants to try out a new skill, design, technique, or yarn type. Most of the designs selected are for advanced beginners and up. We encourage everyone to push their skills a bit and suggest you try a project or two.

This class will teach you new techniques that you can use to go further with your quilting. This class assumes that you know how to sew, quilt or have made at least 1 quilt before. You will be creating 2 projects with this class utilizing your own stash or purchasing yardage from us.
