In Session Studios was created by Jacinta Cannon in 2011 after previously being established as 'Sing Out! For Your Soul' in 2010. Jacinta's goal was to create a school that could provide a modern, fresh and all encompassing approach to vocal, performance and music training. 

​In 2013 In Session Studios was successfully taken over by our now owner and director - Elizabeth Wight-Virgona. Elizabeth continues to follow Jacinta's goal while adding her own flair! 

​We pride ourselves on our high standards and personal approach. Our teachers are dedicated to their students no matter what their goal is. We believe music brings joy, builds confidence and assists development in all aspects of your life.

  • Miriam has worked as an In Session Studios team member since 2016. She specialises in teaching beginner singing, piano, guitar, ukulele and performance classes. With a background in primary school teaching, Miriam has used her skills to create lessons which are engaging, hands on, and enjoyable for students of all ages. Miriam finds teaching extremely rewarding and she feels lucky she can combine her two main passions, music and teaching, together. “Often students at the beginning of their music journey can feel that learning an instrument is an unreachable goal. It’s something they’ve always wanted to do, but don’t think they can ever reach the point they want. But after having several lessons, they start to see that they are slowly achieving their goal whilst having fun and learning something new. They realise that by taking small steps each week and learning a new skill each lesson, their goal is achievable. I find that a very rewarding experience and take pride in helping all students reach their music goals.” Miriam's love of music began at a young age. Throughout primary school, Miriam had piano and flute lessons and was a member of her school band. She also participated in several musicals. Later in high school Miriam began learning guitar and also honed her singing skills. More recently, Miriam has performed in a covers band, and also as a pianist and singer. Miriam’s skills as an instrumentalist, singer and performer make her an ideal teacher for students interested in combining vocals with an instrument. Miriam is a very supportive and encouraging teacher whose love of music and teaching shines through.
