Our students enjoy working on songs from various genres of music, including pop, jazz, folk, classical, theatre. All lessons include singing technique through a broad range of vocal exercises.
Good vocal technique is something every singer must have to use his or her voice to its maximum potential whether singing in a choir, in an ensemble, as a solo singer or in a band.
Soundworks Music School has been around Palmerston North since 2007, initially led by Liz Locke, but now owned and managed since February 2021 by Rhys Davies Smith, teacher of guitar and drums.

Each lesson begins with a 5 minute vocal warm up with kids moving around the room.
We’re passionate about what we do and the benefits that learning to play a musical instrument provides.
Singing classes are offered by Auckland Music School. We are focusing on the lessons suitable for each student’s demand and we give our best to provide each student the highest quality in music education. Our goal is to help students to enjoy and love music.
Voice classes are offered by Mauao Performing Arts Centre. Education is provided by industry professionals that perform and play within the community.
This age specific program aims to develop all aspects of early music fundamentals for this most receptive age group.
