You will also be taught to clear firearm malfunctions and conduct magazine changes while on the move. First time firearm owners should participate in skills builder courses once their firearms are licensed to build confidence and muscle memory.
International Training Academy (ITA) is South Africa’s market leader in expert firearm training. ITA develops firearm training material and supplies this material to more than 260 ITA-accredited firearm training centres across South Africa.
ITA provides training at all levels of the firearm qualification including basic training for private use of firearms and competency testing for firearms license applications, business purposes training and the respective part qualifications or modules required for use of a firearm in a work environment, e.g. Armed Security Officer and firearms industry related firearm training at Instructor level, Assessor, Range Officer and Tactical level. ITA’s training material is accredited with the Professional Firearm Trainers Council (PFTC) and is developed in line with the SAQA firearms qualification.
Firearm competency training is offered by Molema Development Training. We also conduct in-house training for companies that require training for employees at their workplace, with a minimum of 10 employees per session.

Handle and use a Handgun course is offered by Shooting Shack. Shooting Shack is an Indoor Shooting Range based in Durban, KZN. We catering for all self defence, sport shooting and firearm enthusiasts.
Firearm training is offered by Wildealskloof Shooting Range. Knowledge of the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000, Basic Handle and Use a Handgun, Self-loading Rifle, Shotgun, Manual Operated Rifle. All these unit standards are as required for a competency certificate to possess a firearm.
Handle and use a Handgun for Private Purposes training is offered by Hugo Britz Firearm Training. Full course for Unit Standard 119649, including manual and ammunition for a person not yet in possession of SASSETA certificate for this unit standard.
