We offer English classes at various levels as well as a wide range of other languages, typically including Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Mandarin, Italian, Korean, Russian, Japanese and more on offer.
Our classes usually run for 10 weeks, taking place once a week on campus.
About Us
Our Story
The idea for the International Society arose back in 1966 when Eva Auerbach, a Chaplain at the University of Manchester, felt there was a need for an independent organisation to provide welfare and social support to international students.
Under the direction of Ms Anna Ford the Society was founded. From small beginnings of less than a hundred members we now have around 6,000 members from over 130 countries each year.

The International Society is a unique one of a kind, independent charity based in Manchester that has been celebrating cultural diversity and promoting global friendship for over 56 years.
We aim to provide international students with a warm and friendly welcome when they arrive in the city and to make their time in the UK a wonderful experience. Our activities including trips, classes, events, activities and volunteering opportunities are open to all.
While the majority of the Society’s members are international and British students studying at the universities and colleges in the city, many are people who have come to live and work in the UK, or members of the community interested in meeting people from all over the world. The Society is family-friendly and people of all ages get involved.
This course covers use of present, past and future tense, designed to help those with some skills in Spanish prepare them for conversation on holiday. Would you like to learn Spanish before your next trip? This course is perfect for you.
Spanish language course is offered by The Language Centre for all skill level. We have courses from beginners to very advanced students, taught by experienced native speakers or teachers who have spent part of their lives in one of the countries where the language is spoken.
Live Language offers Spanish courses in Glasgow for you to learn or improve your language skills. Our Spanish lessons are designed to provide you with the skills and language knowledge you need to be able to use Spanish in a variety of situations.
Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world with over 400 million native speakers. Over 41 million people in the US are Spanish native speakers. Spanish is the official language in 21 countries.
By attending this course, you will be able to understand and converse in Spanish using the context and vocabulary learnt in this third part of the course. The grammar and vocabulary will be basic but starting to construct more complex conversations.
