The course uses practical application and performance to support and reinforce the knowledge and understanding required to study aspects of instructing, coaching and leadership, fitness and training, physiology and health and safety.
This course provides a dynamic, relevant and challenging contribution to the study of sport at this level. This qualification is equivalent to three A Levels, so on completion you can choose employment or higher education.Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) including English and maths (or equivalent) or a First Diploma with Merit profile. You should be interested in all aspects of sport and sport performance and be committed to practical sport.

In addition to this, if you are a talented individual, aged 16-19 and committed to developing your sports performance while studying, you may also be able to participate in one of our Academies – Football or Tennis.
How do the Academies work? Academy players will have a timetable with coaching and playing sessions built in. This enables you to study on a full-time course and play/train for the Academy team without missing key lecture time.
The Football Academy is coordinated and run by experienced and qualified coaching staff who deliver a first-class football performance programme.

Academy selection process: To be considered for the Football Academy, you need to attend a formal trial in May where a squad will be selected for the coming year.
Players that do not make the Academy squad still have an opportunity to play for the College through the second team. To be considered for the Tennis Academy you need to attend a formal trial in September where a squad will be selected.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is specifically designed to fit the purpose and objective of the qualification. It includes a range of assessment types and styles suited to vocational qualifications in the sector.
Units are assessed through a mix of assignment based tasks and external assessments.There will also be a mix of individual and group work, which will require you to complete investigations, reports and presentations.

This introductory qualification is for trainee teachers who are just starting out in teaching/training, not in teaching/training currently or perhaps working as assessors and wish to develop their teaching skills.
This course at University Centre West Anglia offers a higher-level qualification for anyone working as a teaching assistant, early years nursery worker or playworker. It’s also ideal if you want to study before starting your career.
This course provides a great stepping stone to our Level 3 sports programmes. Previous students starting at Level 2 Sport have progressed through Level 3 and are succeeding at Level 5 on our Foundation Degree.
