The Standard First Aid course is a prerequisite for candidates registered in NLS, but this course is not restricted to aquatics candidates.
Standard First Aid provides comprehensive training covering all aspects of first aid and CPR (level C), and is designed to provide a more in depth understanding of first aid, including: legal implications; spinal injuries; heat or cold injuries; bone and joint injuries; chest injuries, and medical emergencies.

Evaluation And Certification
Students must attend a minimum of 90% of class hours. If a student plans on not fully attending a course while still meeting the required minimum attendance percentage, they must inform the instructor and are responsible for catching up on any material missed during their absence.
Students are evaluated by a certified First Aid Instructor and Examiner. Certification is awarded upon successful completion of in-class evaluations and of the practical exam, and is valid for 24 months.

Winnipeg First Aid is pleased to offer workplace-approved standard first aid and CPR courses. This course comes standard with CPR level “C” certification, however, candidates can opt for a higher level CPR HCP to partner with this course.
The course on First Aid – Basic training in Fort St. John is a 7-hour program, including coffee and lunch breaks. In order to be successful, candidates must demonstrate practical skill competency and achieve 70% on a multiple-choice exam.
This course prepares you to deal with the everyday bumps and scrapes of home and work as well as the skills needed to save a life.
Alternatively, this course can be taken partially online.
This first aid certification is recognized by WSIB and is valid for 2 years.
