Seacom Marine College is a venture of well-known trust and reputation in Kolkata. It is one of the oldest colleges in Kolkata established in 1989 which is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), Govt. of West Bengal.

Approved by Director General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Ministry of Communication & IT, Govt. of India. The Ministry of Communications- Govt. of India has authorized “Seacom Marine College” to impart training and instructions in relation to Radio Communication at Kolkata.

To accelerate technological development the Central Govt. further authorized Seacom Marine College to establish, maintain and work for the purpose of research, experimentation, design/development of Kolkata. Additionally, the college is an approved examination center for Ministry of Aeronautics, Govt. of India.

Profile Of Seacom Marine & Engineering Collegeâ 

Seacom Marine College was established for Research, Experiment, Design and Development purpose in the field of Science and Technologies and to provide education and training in the relevant field.

This role is now confined to the Training and certification of STCW’95(Standard of Training Certification and Watch Keeping) mandatory courses, however additional practical oriented sophisticated courses in the field of Electronics & Telecommunications with a specialized emphasize in Information Technology is in the Pipeline.

The College has achieved an excellent reputation as provider of quality training. Extensive facilities and highly experienced faculty staff have made it a leading college in India

As the influence of the college grew, the need for recognition became apparent. Government of India, Ministry of Communications authorized Seacom Marine College to impart training and instructions to students in India. The College started intensive research and experiments for the development of Science & Technologies.

To accelerate technological development, The Central Govt. further authorized Seacom Marine College to establish, maintain and work for the purpose of research/experimentation, design/development at Calcutta and also for servicing and maintenance of Electronic Computer based equipments.

The College is an examination centre in eastern India for the award of General Operators Certificate(GMDSS) examination in the Maritime Mobile service and Certificate of Proficiency examination in the Radio Telephony Restricted (Aeromobile service) conducted by Govt. of India, Ministry of Communications and director general of Shipping, Govt. of India and Second Mate Function course and examination by Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai.

The college is an ISO 9001:2000 institution and commands good market respect in the area of premaritime shipping training.

The college has been established on 17th August, 1989 with a view to imparting sea and post sea maritime training to students who have completed their marine graduate level courses college was established for research, experiment, design and development in the field of science and technology and to provide education training for the Ship Industry.

The status of the college is proprietorship represented by the proprietor – Sri Anish Chakraborty who himself is a Marine Officer young and energetic with great business acumen, administrative skill and has developed considerable experience in handling and administering institutions of any length and size.

Seacom Engineering Collegea

This College has taken a new approach in offering engineering and technical education with maximum industry orientation and more stress on practical skills, aiming at building greater confidence in students. To keep abreast with emerging technological and industrial needs, experts will be inducted time to time and as and when necessary.

The College aims to provide quality technical education alongwith development of intellectual leadership qualities and corporate ethics, - creating potential manpower for industries as well as research and development. Presently the college has offered B.Tech Courses in four streams:
