We all have valuable lived experience that drives us to speak up for change. This workshop is for advocates and for staff of organizations who support advocates with lived experience, and who want to share their story.
In this workshop, Cate Friesen will introduce you to tools and practices that you can use to tell your personal story in a way that is heartfelt and focussed, and inspires others to work with you for change.
Learning Objectives:

Students are introduced to Mi’kmaq literature and oral storytelling tradition
During these workshops, the participants would learn the benefits and practicalities of doing snapshot stories with your students
We offer a wide variety of performances for the public and artistic development opportunities for storytellers
At the end of the series, they will have finished a story from their life to share with other participants in the group and they’ll also benefit from hearing the stories of others.
