This training will be provided to staff as part of the new Employee Orientation Training within 2 weeks of hire.
Training will include:
An overview of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the requirements of the customer service standard
Safety training Ottawas’ accessible customer service plan
How to interact and communicate with people with various types of disabilities
How to interact with people with disabilities who use an assistive device or require the assistance of a service animal or a support person
What to do if a person with a disability is having difficulty in accessing Safety Training Ottawas’ goods and services
Staff will also be trained when changes are made to our accessible customer service plan.
The Occupational Health and Safety Awareness and Training Regulation (O. Reg. 297/13) requires employers to ensure that workers on construction projects successfully complete a working at heights training program if they may use specified methods of fall protection.
This Confined Space Entry & Monitor course offers theory as well as practical knowledge required for entering a confined space or monitoring to the entry of a confined space.
This six and a half hour program for construction workers is based on the requirements of the new MOL training program standard.
