As the Tango came to the Seine in Paris from the Rio Plata in Buenos Aires around 1910, it infected the whole city with its erotic charm. Shortly thereafter this included all of Europe and then the whole globe. The Tango was danced with the same fervour in Vienna, Berlin, Moscow, Helsinki and Tokyo. Even the Pope let himself be personally introduced to the new dance in the Vatican.
InStep Dance Studio principals Chris & Anne Leitch have been dancing since their early teens. With over 40 years of teaching experience they have taught thousands of people the pleasurable art of ballroom dancing.
Their approach to teaching is first and foremost to have fun. Even if you have two left feet and no sense of rhythm, their teaching method will have you feeling comfortable from the very first lesson.
Lessons and classes are available for Beginners, Improvers, Wedding Couples, Medallists, and Competitors.
Beginner Classes are 10 week sessions during which you learn the basics of Foxtrot, Waltz, Quickstep, Cha Cha, and Jive.
This will give you the skills to comfortably get up at any function and dance with confidence.
It is clearly an advantage to have a partner, but this is not essential.
Improver classes which add new variations to the basic steps and improve your dancing ability follow on from that.
Beginner or experienced dancer, your needs can be catered for in a friendly, fun atmosphere in either a class or private lesson situation.
Classes and Private Lessons are held in our specially designed Dance Studio in Whangarei.
Beginner Street Latin classes are offered by UCan2 Dance Studio. Beginner dancer, mall groups, medal training, improving your technique, or competition training; whatever your reason, private lessons bring confidence, enjoyment and enhance your skills.
The characteristics of the Tango Dance which differ from the other 4 ballroom dances is that it has no rise and fall, the hold is more compact and has a staccato action.
Argentine Tango dance classes are offered by UCan2 Dance Studio. Beginner dancer, mall groups, medal training, improving your technique, or competition training; whatever your reason, private lessons bring confidence, enjoyment and enhance your skills.
Tango is a partner dance. We run progressive 8 week courses which you can join up to week 2.
Step by Step provide classes for all levels and ages; children classes, beginner classes and more advanced classes.
