When it comes to our Tap lessons, we combine the CDTA syllabus with the Stepping Tones (Al Gilbert) syllabus to provide instruction to students aged 5-16.
Tap classes is offered by ETUDES Dance Studio. Dancers make rhythmic movements and sounds with their feet using tap shoes.
This exciting style has dancers wearing special shoes equipped with metal taps. Tap dancers use their feet to create rhythmic sounds and timely beats. Tap is excellent for developing musicality and coordination.
Tap dance is a percussive style of dance using the taps on tap shoes to make rhythms and patterns with the music. The focus of tap dancing is on footwork and execution of rhythms, but also incorporates jazz dance style.
Broadway tap focuses more on the dance. It is widely performed as a part of musical theater. Rhythm tap focuses more on musicality, and practitioners consider themselves to be a part of the Jazz tradition
