Section 1  Reading Section

This reading section will have 3-4 long passages and each passage will have more or less 700 words. Each passage will be taken from academic subjects.

Candidates will have multiple choice questions along with 4 options and you need to find 1 correct answer among 4 options.  You are obliged to complete every passage within 20 minutes time duration.

Section 2  Listening Skills:

Under this section, candidates will be told to listen to 2 types of listening items such as lectures and conversation. There will be almost 34-51 questions and all questions will be multiple-choice questions. Candidates will be having a time limit duration between 41-57 minutes to finish this listening task.

Section 3 Speaking Skills

This section is divided into mainly 4 tasks that relate to precisely real-life situations you might come across in your classroom or outside the classroom.

• Question 1 is known as independent speaking tasks so it is easy to understand through its name that you get the liberty to make up your own ideas, opinions, and experiences when you answer during this task.
• Questions 2-4 are known as integrated speaking tasks so this clearly means you will have to combine your all English language skills such as listening, reading, and speaking

You have 17 minutes time to make a good impression during your speaking task.In short, this section has been designed to measure your ability to speak English confidently and effectively in academic settings.

Section 4  Writing Section

This section is composed of 2 writing tasks as below:

Integrated Writing Task

you will be presented a short passage so you need to read this short passage properly and then listen to a short lecture attentively, then write everything coherent and to the point in response to what you read and listened to.

You will get only 20 minutes time to finish this writing task so be careful and better prepared.

Independent Writing Task

you will be given a writing topic so you need to make sure you write an essay with the best of your abilities based on personal experience or opinion in response to a writing topic. You will get only 30 minutes time to finish this writing task so be careful and better prepared.

In a nutshell, This section’s objective is to check your ability to write in the English language in an academic setting, and it is expected from you that you can present your ideas in a clear, well-organized manner.

TOEFL has 2 types of exam versions as below:

TOEFL iBT:

iBT is known as an ‘Internet-based test’. This test is taken online and it is all about assessing your English fluency skills in Writing, Reading, Listening, and Speaking. The candidate will get 4 hours to complete this test.

TOEFL PBT:

PBT is known as the Paper-based test. This test is conducted on paper and designed to assess proficiency in the English language in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking modules. The candidate will get 3 hours to complete this test.
