Any person who carries out work on or beside a road (Local or State Highway). This includes RCA Project staffs, Engineers project management, design and site supervision staff, All Contractors on site management staff including Site Managers, Site Forepersons and Leading Hands, and those who establish, manage and disestablish a work site in the absence of the STMS provided that the TMP is designed by an STMS, the TC is fully briefed by the Site STMS and the Site STMS visits the site at least once daily.

The TTM Worker course is the first step working in a TTM crew under a TMO or STMS. It consists of in class learning, practical mentoring in a controlled environment and a practical assessment on the live road.Â
Traffic control courses form part of the overall traffic management courses Nz syllabus in NZ. Once you have achieved this course you can progress on to others such as STMS training.
This two-day STMS Level 1 course is for anyone with a basic Traffic Control (TC) qualification who is looking to take the lead role for traffic management on their work site.
Training and Mentoring NZ runs Waka Kotahi approved Temporary Traffic Management workshops nationwide. We have trainers and assessors operating across New Zealand on an almost-weekly basis.
The qualification is gained by attending a full day (8.30 to 5.00) classroom course and then at a later date complete an onsite practical setup assessment which involves off lane work only. (footpath and shoulder closures)
