This course will introduce the learner to the scope and process of the wealth management discipline, including how to group clients based by net-worth. 

Additionally, the course will teach the learner about the many resources available to wealth managers that allow them to best acquire clients, put together a prospectus, and analyze market trends. 

 

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner will have a strong understanding of:

  • The duties of the wealth manager.
  • Relationship building, communication, and presentation.
  • Performance measurement.
 
 
Outcomes:
  • T1. Defining Wealth Management: This topic will introduce the learner to the scope and process of the wealth management discipline, including how to group clients based by net-worth, so that s/he is prepared to understand the scope of wealth management.
  • T2. Client Acquisition: This topic will teach the learner about the wealth managerÆs job to find new clients and expand existing clientele through client acquisition through client referral and client procurement so s/he understands how best to acquire clients.
  • T3. Role of the Wealth Manager: This topic will provide the learner with an overview of the duties of the wealth manager, including how to recognize opportunities to cross-sell other bank products, handling clients who have varying degrees of risk tolerance, and how to best maintain professionalism in the workplace.
  • T4. Wealth Manager Skills: This topic will introduce the learner to the wealth management skills that are essential to performing successfully as a wealth manager, such as relationship building, communication, and presentation.
  • T5. Understanding Risk and Reward: This topic will introduce the learner to the basic concept and types of risk so that the learner understands how to best conceptualize how to handle risk.
  • T6. Wealth Management: This topic will teach the learner about the many resources available to wealth managers that allow them to best acquire clients, put together a prospectus, and analyze market trends.
  • T7. Profiling Investors: This topic will explain to the learner the best ways to understand and create a profile for each client as well as provide an introduction to the various styles of investment and the concepts of horizons and constraints.
  • T8. Investment Policy and Process: This topic will provide the learner with an understanding of the definition of portfolio management as well as an overview of the four steps in the portfolio management process, the uses of the investment policy statement (IPS), and common investment objectives.
  • T9. Performance Measurement: This topic will teach the learner about performance measurement, which involves specifically defined organizational objectives, evaluations of portfolio returns, following up, and rebalancing, so s/he is prepared to measure performances on the job.
