This course provides students with knowledge of basic work- place safety, an understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and the skills needed to then apply key princi- ples in the workplace. It will also provide an overview on the responsibilities of people in the workforce.

If you are in business and contract people or businesses to do work for you, then you will have duties as a principal under the HSWA 2015. Putting work out to contract doesn’t remove your health and safety obligations and is not the “easy option”.
At the successful completion of this course, trainees will be able to demonstrate knowledge of an organisation’s health and safety procedures, and the application of health and safety procedures under supervision.
This course covers the safety aspects of working in and around trenches within the civil industry and covers drainage work from small pipe, small scale excavations to large storm water and deep excavations.
