This module is designed to equip learners with the skills and knowledge to assess workplacerisk management actionsand other legal requirementsby the WSH Act, Suggestsafety improvements inusing automated equipmentin the workplace and Appraisethe effectivenessof existing risk controlmeasures.

 

Course Outlines

After attending the course, learners will be able to:

  • identify the criticality of reviewing workplace risk management actions and other legal requirements while being able to conduct programmes in connection to the WSH of the food industry

  • identify and implement the different kinds of investigation and inspection processes that are under WSH

  • infer the safety considerations to keep in mind when using automated equipment and formulate improvement factors for processes in the workplaceRecognise prevailing gapsin existing control measures

  • assess the gaps that are present in existing control measures and conduct appropriate actions to correct and prevent

  • assess and illustrate the effectivity of existing risk control measures in relation to the hierarchy of control

  • Learner is able to appraise themselves with being involved in the existing unsafe working practices

  • employ techniques on the investigation of WSH incidents and create a report of the data gathered

 

Entry Requirements

  • At least 21 years old;

  • At least secondary school education;

  • Able to speak, listen and read English at a proficiency level not lower than the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification Workplace Literacy Level (WPL Level 5)
