An Accredited Youth Mental Health First Aider is someone who has completed the 14hr YMHFA Course and completed the online assessment at the end of the course. This accreditation remains valid for 3 years.
Course Description
An Accredited Youth Mental Health First Aider is someone who has completed the 14hr YMHFA Course and completed the online assessment at the end of the course. This accreditation remains valid for 3 years.
At the end of this 3 year period, the individual can opt to complete a Refresher Course to keep their accreditation valid for another 3 years. At the end of this second 3 year period, the individual must complete the full 14hr course to maintain their accreditation.
Audience:
Individuals who have previously completed the 12hr Standard or 14hr Youth MHFA Course and want to refresh their skills to extend their Accreditation for another 3 years. Please note, if you have not completed a 12hr or 14hr Course you cannot be Accredited as a Youth Mental Health First Aider at the conclusion of the refresher training.
