Hi there! I'm Kristen

  • I live in Calgary, Alberta with my husband, Patrick, and daughter, Juniper.  It Is here our love for food has taken us on an adventure.

  • In 2015, my adventure began when I stumbled across the world of naturally leavened bread. The moment I saw the perfect bubbling sourdough culture, I was hooked; I needed to know more.  It quickly became my addiction where I read and researched about creating the “Real” bread.  Real, wholesome, natural, simple bread free from additives and preservatives. 
  • On my journey to know more, I had to sift through a mountain of information and years of testing the theories and recipes that came my way, so I could put everything together.  It was through this testing that I have come to know and understand the development and use of the sourdough culture. 
  • It is my mission to help educate and instruct people on all things sourdough such as What it is, Ways to make it, and How simple it is make.  I want everyone to know that making wholesome bread does not have to be complicated.  There is more than one way to make wholesome bread.  You can choose what works for you.  The art of bread making has been around for many a millennium.  Let’s bring this tried-and-true art of bread making into your home.

Come spend the morning with Kristen in her bread lab learning about the sourdough baking method. Each student will mix, shape and bake a loaf of sourdough and bagels that they will take home along with some fresh culture
