The Learning Disabilities Association of Toronto District (LDATD) is a chapter of the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario (LDAO) serving the amalgamated City of Toronto. We are a Not for Profit Charity. Learning Disabilities Association is committed to creating a society in which people with LDs are able to achieve the full expression of their intellect and abilities and enabled to contribute in the workplace to their fullest.

LDATD Goals

  • Provide written and verbal information about learning disabilities and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
  • Provide support and guidance to parents and guardians concerning their children’s rights in the school system.
  • Provide advocacy for both children and adults and participate in public awareness activities.
  • Provide information to community groups, schools, professional development days, conferences and seminars.
  • Operate a resource centre for books, videos and materials for all.
  • Provide referral services to professionals, tutors.
  • Publish a newsletter for members three times a year.
  • Fundraise to provide support for programs and services.

LDATD’s vision is a world in which people with Learning Disabilities (LDs) and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (AD(H)D) are able to successfully reach the full potential of their intellect and abilities. Our mission is a centre of excellence in the provision of education, advocacy, research and services to advance the full participation of children, youth, adults and seniors.

Our Mission

LDATD’s mission is to create a centre of excellence in the provision of education, advocacy, research and services to advance the full participation of children, youth, adults and seniors with LDs and ADHD. This cannot be achieved without ongoing support of our clients, partners, communities, volunteers and staff.

Our week-long Keyboarding camp during the March break will provide a comfortable and receptive environment where children can acquire typing skills.
