Nifco

Nifco members run the organization and create the vibe for the working environment which is very distinctively “by filmmakers, for filmmakers. ”

Nifco is governed by an eleven member board of directors composed of a full

Range of founding members, senior producers and directors, as well as new

filmmakers. It is said that “nobody graduates from nifco” and by this we mean that continuity and stability is provided by the continued participation of the full spectrum of membership. 

Nifco is often the first point of entry for anyone looking for information on how to make a film in newfoundland. 

Nifco provides:

• Access to basic production equipment
• Access to state-of-the-art post-production facilities
• Information on how to liaise with local filmmakers
• Instruction/mentoring to new and emerging filmmakers
• Workshops & training in different areas of production and post-production
• Outreach programs that bring workshops, and at times, screenings, to remote areas of the province
