Workplace Safety North (WSN) is a not-for-profit health and safety association funded by the provincial government to provide approved health and safety training and services to the mining and forest products industries. A trusted safety advisor, WSN and its legacy organizations have been helping make workplaces safer since 1915.
As part of WSN, Ontario Mine Rescue (OMR) provides training to mine rescue team members throughout the province to continuously improve the skills and knowledge of mine rescue techniques and procedures. Since its creation in 1929, OMR has established a reputation for excellence in emergency response.
This legislated training requirement is recognized by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) and must be renewed every three years.
The first day of this course is delivered in the classroom through lecture, discussion, case study exercises, videos, and other interactive activities to ensure key concepts related to confined space work are addressed.
This one-day course provides a comprehensive overview of legislated requirements, hazards and hazard controls related to working at heights.
This half-day classroom course reviews the specific requirements for hazard identification and product classification in every workplace that uses, handles, stores or disposes of hazardous materials.
