This can be done using drawings, models, puppets, computer images, and more. Originally, the method of choice for animation was drawings, which were applied to transparent sheets and then photographed.

However, it is now more common for animation to be created using computer-generated imagery, also known as CGI. Animation is a process where multiple snapshots are taken and manipulated by showing them in rapid succession, which creates the illusion that they are moving.

3D Animation is the process of creating three-dimensional moving images in a digital environment. 3D Animation creates objects with height, width, and depth. 3D models within a 3D software are manipulated to make them look like real moving objects.

Animation can be created using some of numerous techniques like:

  • Traditional/Classical 2D Animation
  • Digital 2D Animation
  • Digital 3D Animation
  • Stop-Motion Animation
  • Cut-Out Animation
  • Sand Animation

What you will learn in 3D Animation Course?

We have designed 3D Animation course as per Industry standard. Once candidate completes the course successfully, he/she will have complete practical exposure to animation industry.

Module 1 - 2D Animation

Learning 2D animation creates a strong foundation to become successful in animation industry. Hand-drawn image method was used in the early days for each form of the story to create animation.

As technology grows, hand-drawn method replaced by digital technology to create images in 2D space, similar to drawing them by hand. However, 2D technology enabled animators to complete the process more quickly. Below are the few highlights of module outline.

Module 2 – 3D Animation

In the early days of animation everything was 2D so everything had to be hand drawn. Times have changed, and the majority of animated films are done with 3D animation.

3D Animation is the process of animating objects that appear in a three-dimensional space using 3D software. 3D objects can be rotated and moved like a real objects. The procedure of creating 3D Animation is categorized into five main sections such as Modeling, Texturing, Lighting, Animation & Rendering.

Topic 1 - Modeling

Module 3 – Compositing

Compositing is the place where final look of an animation really comes together. Compositing involves taking the render passes from the production stage and combining them together to create a composition.

Compositing is the combining of visual elements from separate sources into one image, in a way it creates the illusion that all those elements are parts of the same scene. Compositing can include special effects, environment creation, blue/green screen replacement, etc. In 3D animation, compositing is about combining two or more render passes or adding layers to create a single image or series of images with predefined properties.
