Abrasive Wheels

This Abrasive Wheels course is for anyone who’s work involves the operation of abrasive wheels – such as bench grinders, pedestal grinders or angle grinders.

This training course will teach delegates how to use equipment safely – so the risk to themselves and others can be minimised.

Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore, candidates for this type of training must be able to understand and speak the English language.

On this half-day course – delegates will learn what legislation requires of those who work with abrasive wheels. This course will also teach delegates how to mount and use abrasive wheels safely – and is based on the ‘Abrasive Wheel Operations in the Wood Industry (PROSM009).

This course is taught via lectures, demonstrations and practical activity which includes inspecting and operating equipment safely.

After completing this course, delegates will be able to:

• Demonstrate and operate abrasive wheels
