The aim of the course is to apply relevant knowledge, skills and exercise professional judgement as expected of a senior financial executive or advisor, in taking or recommending decisions relating to the financial management of an organisation in private and public sectors.

This course develops upon the core financial management knowledge and skills covered in the Financial Management syllabus and prepares candidates to advise management and/or clients on complex strategic financial management issues facing an organisation.

 

Learning Objectives:

On successful completion of this exam, candidates should be able to:

  • Use strategic planning and control models to plan and monitor organisational performance

  • Assess the impact of risk and uncertainty on organisational performance

  • Identify and evaluate the design features of effective performance management information and monitoring systems and recognise the impact of developments in technology on performance measurement and management systems.

  • Apply appropriate strategic performance measurement techniques in evaluating and improving organisational performance

  • Advise clients and senior management on strategic business performance

  • evaluation and on recognising vulnerability to corporate failure
