Course Details

This program provides an excellent start for investigation of incidents in the work place.  Designed to meet compliance in Alberta and Saskatchewan a start to finish investigation can be completed.

The course starts with why investigations are necessary, hazard assessment for investigators and an explanation of definitions common to industry and investigations.  Students are taught to classify incidents based on severity which provides guidance on the depth and complexity of the investigation.

The program provides scenarios for the students to practice the skills taught, to help grasp the priorities of an investigator, how to conduct interviews, gathering facts and evaluating them.  The participants are then involved in a discussion to assist in the development of corrective actions for the causes for the incident.

Report writing and submission of findings to management is covered. The program then discusses how to build an investigation kit based on the industry the participant works in.
