Course Details

The Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree program is designed to provide students with the broad knowledge and skills associated with the field of accounting. Special emphasis will be placed on communication, critical thinking, and decision making. 

The program contains the necessary content and credit hours to qualify for the CPA exam in most states (additional hours may be required to earn the CPA license). The goal of the program is to prepare students to seek careers in public accounting, forensic accounting, corporate accounting, internal or external auditor, or tax examiner. Students are required to earn a minimum grade of “C” in all major courses.

Broad-Based School of Business & Technology Student Learning Goals:

  • Students will acquire the relevant foundational disciplinary knowledge and competencies appropriate to their program of study.

  • Students will demonstrate effective business-related professional skills.

  • Students will demonstrate knowledge of appropriate decision support tools and apply them to management decision making.

  • Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the various environments in which business operates.
