The course covers accounting techniques in the contexts in which a lawyer is likely to confront accounting issues. It provides knowledge of fundamental accounting techniques and principles of recordation, presentation, and analysis of financial data.

Students will also learn how to analyze various SEC disclosure documents, including SEC Form 10-K.

Explore how governmental accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting, differ significantly from private-sector financial activities. Learn about the unique aspects of accounting and reporting for the federal government as well as state and local governments.
This course will introduce the learner to financial statements to better his/her understanding of the process of auditing and methods of accounting.
