Students will learn computer skills such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Access as well as gain an understanding of accounting fundamentals including assets, liabilities, cash control and banking, accounting cycles, and year-end finanical statements. This training is aimed at entrepreneurs and/or team members who wish to improve their skills to carry out the daily accounting management of a small business. Following this, participants will be able to keep simple general accounting and understand the main principles of finance and taxation.
This course introduces journalizing, posting to the ledgers, completing a trial balance, adjusting and closing entries and preparing financial statements. The complete accounting cycle for a service business will be studied.
This course is the first of a two-part, in-depth study that examines the concepts of cost and managerial accounting. Major topics include cost-volume profit-analysis, relevant costs and short-term decision making, responsibility accounting, standard costing and variance analysis.
