Our Acro program is based in good foundation gymnastics conditioning and incorporates elements from the Acrobatic Arts dance program. As adults, it can be difficult and even scary to develop the skills necessary to safely perform acrobatic tricks.

We have many props and training exercises available to create a safe environment to train safely in-studio, as well as some opportunities for class field trips to a proper gym! Students are encouraged to develop at their own pace with their specific strengths supported – not everyone can do a back bend or a handstand the same way.
This program is a fantastic supplement to our other dance styles to help develop core awareness and upper body strength, as well as a confidence for trusting yourself to do scary things!
Dance Alive Studios was created in the summer of 2017 to meet the changing needs of adult dancers in the Saskatoon community. Caelia Gardiner, the owner and Artistic Director of DAS, developed the adult dance program at Juliette’s Dance Centre from 2011 to 2017.
This program has become unique in the field – it provides aspiring adult dancers with progressive levels of focused training at their desired level. Recreational dance is the common stream, but more intense training opportunities are available upon request (group and solo competition, examination, teacher training, etc.).
The leaps, tumbling, and flexibility movements that provide the necessary virtuosity skills needed by today's musical theatre dancer, will be developed as they relate to dance training. Students are accepted into the program according to previous study, readiness, & flexibility.
Classes run from September to June but do not participate in the year end recital or competition. The main purpose for this class is for continuous training and strengthening throughout the dance season.
A combination of technical dance blended with acrobatic movements including gymnastics, flexibility and athletic movements
AcroDance is an art form specifically for dancers. Acro has softer, more lyrical looking lines, with the emphasis being on lengthening “through” the tricks and holding pretty balances with interesting variations.
