Brigs is a charitable organization dedicated to building leadership, self-efficacy and self-esteem in youth 13-18.
This is accomplished through the peer-to-peer delivery of challenging programs aboard our traditionally-rigged vessel, with a focus on safety and the creation of positive and memorable experiences on board.
Brigs also endeavours to foster learning and the development of practical skills, the adoption of environmentally sustainable practices, and an appreciation of the rich marine heritage of the Great Lakes.

Our Vision
To be a leader in the delivery of sail training for youth, to develop character, foster personal growth and develop self-confidence and awareness.
Youth take the helm, learn to chart a course, haul lines, climb aloft to furl sails, and complete activities around the galley and ship maintenance.
The Introduction to Cruising course teaches the basic skills needed to perform the most common maneuvers as a crew member.
A one-day introductory course designed to give a quick overview of sailing before joining a full course.
Learn all the basics of keelboat sailing from one of our experienced and Sail Canada-certified instructors.
Sailors will meet the instructors at Lakeside Beach in an area near the water behind the park washrooms.
