What we do
Pilgrims helps people facing a terminal diagnosis, and their families, to live well in every moment.
Our work began 35 years ago, with the vision of one village nurse – now our President Ann Robertson. Ann wanted to make a difference for the people in her community facing terminal illness.
Thanks to her devotion, and the help of countless others, today we have over 200 Pilgrims nurses and therapists. Together they support thousands of people in east Kent each year.
At Pilgrims Hospices, we have a simple vision:
“Of a community where people with a life limiting illness and their family and friends are supported and empowered to live well in mind and body until the very last moment of their life.”
Our mission
To make a difference in the lives of individuals in east Kent who are facing the last year of life
Our care
Provide open, compassionate care and expertise for patients and their families; both in the community and in our in-patient units. We will continue this support for families through their bereavement.
Our patients
Advise, educate and enable patients and their families so they can make informed choices and participate in planning their own care.
Our network
Form strategic partnerships throughout our community; sharing our research, knowledge and expertise to enable others to play their part in supporting families where and when they need it.
This Strategic Internal Communication Skills training course uses current research which shows that internal communications can be a powerful agent of change, driving the honest and regular discussion on topics essential to staff morale.
This Recording and Report Writing training course aims to develop on the skills & confidence of the participants in structuring, writing and evaluating forms of communication so others can understand them.
Amending CV for specific employers
The courses and additional support aim to enhance the skills of individuals to make them better managers and great leaders and as a result enable them to maximise their personal potential and increase their contribution and value to their companies.? Positive Perspective is accredited by the I...
Without ‘good’ communication we can’t function on any level within Health and Social Care. Communication is the key skill, without it we cannot unlock the door to the knowledge, understanding and skills need to work with our team and with our clients.
