Course Details

This course equips students to enhance their knowledge, skills and understanding pertaining to diabetes. It also enables students to become effective and skilled teachers in the health education, treatment and nursing of diabetes patients and their families.

The course is made up of didactic and clinical components in order that knowledge connected to concepts and principles of diabetes nursing is conveyed in a thorough manner, providing students with the management skills of patients with diabetes.

Programme structure

  • Students must complete a total of 40 credit hours as required in order to qualify for the award of Executive Diploma. Each student must take and pass all courses prescribed as Core Courses and Specialisation Courses.

Entry requirements

  • UMMC / Ministry of Health candidates
  • Certificate/Diploma in Nursing.
  • Registration with the Nursing Board of Malaysia.
  • At least 3 years’ work experience following registration.
  • Confirmation of current post held.

Private organisation candidates

  • Certificate/Diploma in Nursing.
  • Registration with the Nursing Board of Malaysia.
  • At least 1 year’s work experience following registration, including at least 3 months’ experience in the field applied for.
