Course Description
In this module, we will be exploring, over the course of 12 weeks, modern day topics about German society, culture and politics. We will use the textbook Sicher! C1.1 (Kurs- und Arbeitsbuch) as a starting point.
Students are encouraged to present topics of their own choice and discuss them with their peers. This can include excerpts from modern day literature to be prepared at home and discussed in class. There will be no formal assessment for this module.

All language courses focus on communication skills through task-based learning, with a particular emphasis on listening and speaking.
During this two-year course, you will explore the language, culture and society of the countries where the language is spoken and develop a critical and analytical approach to film and literature in your chosen language.
Research shows that learning languages builds friendships, improves brain power and opens up the world. Through our Languages at Leicester courses we are able to offer classes currently in Spanish, German, and Polish from beginner level to advanced.
