This course has been designed by ISH24 based on the theories of the nationally recognised G1, G8, G9 Supervisor Training with added advanced concepts in order to provide mining site safety representatives and supervisors the most comprehensive safety and leadership training experience.

The Advanced Mine Site Supervisor Training program has been developed for participants employed in the mining, construction, and civil industries. Anyone who performs the duties of a mine supervisor, will benefit from the learnings delivered throughout this course.

Participants will learn how to implement and improve site risk management systems, conduct safety investigation, and coordinate emergency situations. ISH24 have designed this course in consultation with our mining clients to ensure that the training materials and the assessment methods are relevant to each individual client and mine site.

The objective of this advanced course is to equip the students with high level leadership and communication skills that they can apply towards improving safety and productivity in their respective workplaces.

 

Core Concepts:

  • Skills and strategies for effective communication and leadership in the mining industry
  • Preparation, testing and documentation of site working instructions
  • Application of the processes to conduct OHS inspections and to identify, analyse, assess risks, recommend treatment, contribute to implementation of treatments and to monitor risks
  • Evaluation and improvement of site risk management systems and implementation of relevant risk management controls
  • Application of safety and health investigative processes at the operational level, including the identification, collection and analysis of evidence
  • Skills and knowledge for controlling and coordinating emergency response situations
