Aerial Lifts are critical to the efficient operation on many industrial operations. They allow work at heights to be completed with relative ease and helps to reduce the issue of engineered anchor points, since certified aerial lifts come equipped with them.
Aerial Lifts are critical to the efficient operation on many industrial operations. They allow work at heights to be completed with relative ease and helps to reduce the issue of engineered anchor points, since certified aerial lifts come equipped with them. Because of the height at which aerial lifts can operate, incidents represent a significant risk of catastrophic consequences. Saskatchewan provincial legislation has very specific regulations governing the training required for operators of aerial lifts and this course meets those requirements.
This course includes approximately 6 hours of theory (online, in classroom). The course content for the online and in classroom versions is the same but delivery in classroom may take longer with the inclusion of examples from the trainer, breaks and questions and discussions that arise when presented in person. Whether theory training is done online or in the classroom there is always a requirement that it be followed up by periods of supervised operation conducted by a qualified person, and a practical evaluation on each type of aerial lift to be operated. All of this must be documented by management within the company.
This course references Saskatchewan provincial legislation, industry best practices, and applicable standards. Participants must meet the mandatory 80% class performance standard on a written exam. Upon successful completion of this course a certificate will be accessible to the student. Course participants receive a manual which includes the course content covered including excerpts of the applicable Saskatchewan provincial legislation.
The Practical Evaluator course is designed to certify supervisors or competent aerial lift operators as practical evaluators. Learning outcomes include an overview of regulatory requirements, how to prepare for an evaluation, evaluation methodology, and scoring the evaluation.
