Participants will learn:
Theory Program
Competency requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Regulations for lifting devices and mobile equipment
Personal protective equipment including fall arrest, head protection, etc.
Pre – shift inspection
Analyzing the task and workplace inspection
Precautions for other moving equipment (i.e. cranes, lift trucks, etc.)
Platform stabilization
Work area protection
Elevation and overhead hazards
Standard safe operating practices
Controls and basic operation
Fall Arrest
Participants are tested for their theoretical knowledge
Pat Evangelisto spent 25 years in manufacturing – initially in Human Resources where he obtained his CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional). During this period of time he held senior HR positions where he was responsible for everything from labour negotiations and labour relations to recruitment and benefits administration. This interactive facilitator-directed class focuses on the legislation, standards and best practices and their application in the workplace.
