DurationAny person operating an aerial lift or aerial work platform is required to be trained on the safe use of the equipment as well as any associated hazards.
Worksite Safety’s Aerial Lifts & Aerial Work Platforms Certification program has been developed in accordance with federal and provincial legislation as safety training for workplaces across Canada.
This course consists of 4 chapters and a final exam.
Once you pass your exam, you may print your certificates of completion (wallet & wall sized). Training may be paused or resumed at any time.
This course covers topics such as: The division of responsibilities, personal protective equipment, fall protection considerations, the different types of aerial lifts, operating procedures, associated hazards, and safe work practices.
Additional training may be required for the specific equipment you will be operating. This training is typically provided by the employer and must be delivered by a competent and qualified person.
Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act states that all employers have several duties and responsibilities when it comes to health and safety training in the workplace. An employer must do everything within reason to protect their workers in every situation.
They must also instruct workers on how to stay safe in the workplace, and ensure all required workers and supervisors have the appropriate training. Some of the training programs we provide include:
Working at heights training is valid for three (3) years from the date of successful completion of an approved program.
In this course you will learn how to fulfill your role as a supervisor and about your your responsibilities under the Ontario law to manage health and safety in the workplace – while still being productive!
The course format has been developed to be a highly interactive program utilizing facilitated presentation, along with exercises to reinforce the learning process. During the class the students will work individually and in groups on exercises and case studies.
Our 12-week program sets you up to earn an apprenticeship as a Heavy Equipment Operator Technician, under guidelines set by the BC Industry Training Authority.
