Aerial Operations familiarizes Florida firefighters with the operation of emergency vehicles and apparatus that have aerial devices.
The course discusses types of aerial equipment, positioning, stabilizing, operating and testing aerial equipment. Students will learn how to operate both articulating and telescoping apparatus, as well as the laws, rules, and driving techniques required for these vehicles.
Students will be required to climb and descend aerial ladders and aerial platforms. Aerial Operations is a blended course (online classroom and in-person exercises), and may be taken as an individual course or bundled as part of the Pump and Aerial Operator Series.
