This can enable you to achieve advanced Yoga postures that can take years to develop without the hammock.
Aerial yoga is a unique form of yoga using a hammock as a versatile prop and is a playful and fun way to practise yoga. You use the hammock to support, either fully or partially, your weight whilst working on traditional Yoga postures.
This can enable you to achieve advanced Yoga postures that can take years to develop without the hammock. With the weight of the body supported you can learn how to achieve proper postural alignment through relaxation rather than effort, producing a peaceful state of mind & a wonderful feeling of lightness in the body
Aerial Yoga will improve core strength, upper body strength, balance and flexibility – all while having fun. It is almost impossible to do an Aerial Yoga class without laughing or smiling at some point – it isn’t only children that need to play!
During postures, due to the support of the hammock, you will be able to completely let go and relax which lets the body restore and regenerate and is a beautiful way to end the class.
Aerial also provides the opportunity for even beginners to Yoga to experience the benefits of inversion (hanging upside down) which is great for the spine as well as building confidence.
Aerial yoga is open to all levels and no previous experience is required.Aerial yoga is available at Hot Lotus but isn’t included in our regular class schedule. To give you the best, personal experience and teaching, Aerial yoga is available on a 1-2-1 or small group basis.

Hot Lotus Wellbeing Hub is purpose-built studio featuring state-of-the-art heating equipment, sound and lighting as well as well-appointed public areas, toilets, changing rooms and showers.
Situated within Pear Mill, a Grade II listed Mill, which is a vibrant and bustling location complete with vintage emporium and fabulous tea rooms. It has excellent transportation links, being less than 5 minutes from the M60 and has the advantage of ample free and secure parking on site as well as good public transport links.
The studio opened in September 2018 and very quickly flourished via word of mouth with many students coming from the local area and all over the Greater Manchester area but also from as far afield as north Wales and Yorkshire.
The secret to Hot Lotus’ success? Apart from the unique classes Hot Yoga 26 (Bikram) and Inferno Hot Pilates (only studio in the North West to offer this) the state-of-the-art studio, with its bespoke design, it really does have the WOW factor and not what you expect to find in an old mill!
Of course, it’s not the fixtures and fittings that make a studio, success lies in the warm welcome and the sense of community. Heidi and the team have made it their mission to create an environment which makes Yoga and Pilates accessible to all, whether you have never taken a class before or whether you are looking to up your game.
Young and old, male and female, all come to help improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
You will learn to balance with the help of the aerial & be able to move through the class moving deeper into postures working with gravity.
They’ll include various hand building pottery skills along with an aerial yoga session.
This class builds on the ‘Aerial Beginners Start Up 4 Week Course’ learning some new skills as well as consolidating skills learned as a new beginner.
