The resource is designed as an introduction to the Framework, its four action plans and to the key issues affecting older people with diverse needs’ engagement with the aged care system.

All funded aged care providers need to understand and be responsive to the experiences and needs of people from diverse backgrounds.
Providers are strongly encouraged through the Aged Care Quality Standards to develop and implement strategies that address inequities in access to their services either through specific Diversity Action Plans or their Strategic Plans.
The Inner West Sector Support Development and Training Programme is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, under the Ethnic Communities' Council of NSW (ECCNSW) to employ a Sector Support Development & Training Officer.
This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to aging, disability or some other reason.
Age Care (Infection,Prevention And Control) is offered by Australasian College. This course is designed to provide staff with the fundamental principles and concepts of infection prevention and control practice as they apply to various Aged Care
Certificate III in Individual Support includes 3 speciality streams; Ageing, Disability and Home and Community Care. You may choose one, two or all three streams. If completing one stream there are 7 core units and 11 electives. There are additional core units for the speciality streams.

The Certificate III in Individual Support has a core set of competencies and offers specialisations in Ageing Support, Home and Community Support or Disability. The Certificate issued to successful graduates will be CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability).
