Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

The PMI-ACP® certification is a great step for those who want to show a thorough skillset AND applicative understanding of Agile Principles, Values, Ceremonies, Roles, and Artifacts at the Tactical (Team) Level, and those who hold or plan to pursue the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification.

It’s also a very important part of the future of Project Management. Even the PMP® exam now is 43% Agile/Hybrid Agile Methodology.  The PMI-ACP® exam is 120 questions and it’s absolutely necessary to demonstrate your understanding of everyone’s role on Agile projects.

Instead of getting one Role credential (like the Certified ScrumMaster or CSM® through Scrum Alliance) the PMI-ACP® shows understanding and mastery of ALL tactical roles.  And knowledge is power.  

And if managers at every level don’t fully understand how Agile works, then much Agile practiced, regardless of intention and regardless of impassioned advocacy, will be ineffective (we call that “agile smells” when something is non-agile  in an Agile environment) and those projects, programs, and portfolios will be in serious danger.
