Our Training Centre offers purpose-built specialist facilities to ensure you receive quality, professional training. Located just ten minutes from Christchurch city allows our students access to practical training on the land, with the option of living in a metropolitan area.
Based in Mcleans Island in the Waimakariri River Regional Park, The National Trade Academy has 70 hectares of facilities to explore. All students are involved in the day to day running and development of the Farm, Farm Park, Commercial nursery and Riding school.
On-site we have classrooms, a forestry block, horticulture gardens and commercial nursery, glasshouse, shade house, tool sheds, irrigated pastures, student common room, farm animals, sand 'all-weather' riding arenas, stables and yards. Everything you expect from a top-quality, land-based training facility is conveniently all on one site.
Our Job Safe Certificates give both theory and practical application to workplace safety. Â Participants are able to: identify and describe legislative rights and responsibilities for workplace health and safety; describe the systems approach to workplace health and safety.
Working Wise are leaders in health and safety. We help people become skilled and engaged in health and safety by providing guides, systems, tools, and support that achieves healthier and safer workplaces which comply with NZ health and safety laws.
EWPs from Scissor lifts, Truck or Trailer Mounted, Boom lift or Vertical Lifts we do them all. The course is designed to give trainees a sound understanding of the safe operating principles of EWPs.
This manual handling course is designed to raise awareness of manual handling and cover concepts of reducing risk.
This course is a Health & Safety requirement and operators MUST be certified for using a EWP within the workplace as per the WorkSafe NZ "Best Practice Guide for Mobile EWP's".
