Course Details

Iac’s affiliated training centres will provide all the underpinning knowledge and skills to equip you as an engineer in the aviation industry. There are two maintenance streams to choose from within this field: mechanical (b1. 1) or avionics (b2). 

Step 1: Entry Requirements

  • Minimum of 17 years old
  • High school graduate qualification which requires three credits – English, Mathematics, & Science
  • Cannot be color-blind

Step 2: Procedures & Course Duration

  • B1.1 Mechanical Course – Students learn to maintain gas turbine engines, brake and undercarriage systems, structural components, cabin pressurization, fuel and pneumatic components, flight controls, and hydraulics on aircrafts.
  • B2 Avionics Course – Students learn skills required to maintain and service aircraft electrical systems, avionics systems, digital componentry, and cockpit flight management systems.
  • You will receive an EASA Certification of Recognition and Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering after completing the course.
  • Course duration of 18 months.

Step 3: Apply for On the Job Training (OJT)

  • Your acquired qualification allows you to complete two years of OJT with any airline or MRO.

  • Congratulations! You’re a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
