Spoken English Courses In Pune By ELTIS

ELTIS was the first institute started by Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, Founder and President of Symbiosis.  It was started to help the International Students acquire a good command of the English  language, so as to facilitate their higher education through English medium. From a modest  beginning in 2 small rooms with 2 teachers, it has now grown to the stature of one of the best  language schools of India.

It is today a proud department of Symbiosis International (Deemed  University) (SIU) re-accredited with “A++” grade by NAAC (National Assessment and  Accreditation Council). It imparts English Language training to 5500+ Indian students every  year. International students learn English as a full-time foundation course with us.

We have had  students of 54 nationalities : Afghanistan, Angola, Brazil, Bahrain, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Burundi,  Czech Republic, China, Congo, Cameroon, Chad, DR Congo, Colombia, Djibouti, Dubai, Egypt,  Eritrea, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Iran, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Japan, Jordan,  Korea, Lebanon, Libya, Mongolia, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nigeria, Nepal, Niger, Oman, Peru,  Palestine, Qatar, Russia, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Thailand, Tanzania, Tunisia,  Turkmenistan, UAE, Uzbekistan, Vietnam & Yemen.  

ELTIS is housed in a smart new campus of over 2500 sq. meters, having 21 spacious AV  classrooms, 100-seat AC Auditorium, 3 Digital Language Labs, a well-equipped Library, 2 AC  audio-visual Conference Rooms, a brand new cafeteria, a Net Café, ATM, Photocopy Booth and a  Primary Health Centre.  

It runs Spoken English courses under the brand name ‘Speakfast’ for Indian students. It is  taught at 5 levels- Preparation, Foundation, Upper Basic, Intermediate & Advanced. These  courses are usually taken by the low or middle income group students or by employees seeking  for better positions in their jobs.  

For Indian students, it also offers a part-time job-oriented ‘Diploma in Practical English and Life  Skills’ (DPELS) under SIU. 

For International students, ELTIS conducts ‘Diploma of Proficiency in English & Career Skills’  [one-year programme]. It also offers 4 intakes – (January, March, August & October) for  ‘Certificate Course in English’. All the courses are under SIU.  

ELTIS is committed to creating an excellent learning environment for the Indian as well as  International students. We are dedicated to enhancing the communicative abilities of our  students through varied co-curricular activities like Skits, Quizzes, Projects, Gala Learning  Workshop, Industrial Visit, Elocution Competition, Spelling Bee Competition, Cookery  Competition, Movie Club, Saturday Speakers Club, Presentation Skills, Personal Interviews,  Career Guidance Service, English Over Tea and Personal Counselling. 

ELTIS conducts Annual National Conference to create an excellent learning environment for our teachers. ELTIS has 21 posts of full-time faculty and 45 visiting faculty for English, having Masters or more in English. Very few other language schools will have such a vast teaching resource. In 2011, ELTIS was recognised as the authorised centre for training and examination for Cambridge Assessment English, Cambridge University, UK.

ELTIS undertakes Corporate Teaching & Teacher Training assignments. It also provides translation & interpretation services. Over 6000 students join ELTIS every year to gain proficiency in English Language, Communication Skills and Soft Skills.
